How It Started
Extrudinaire didn't start with a business plan. It started with a FlashForge and a dwindling student budget.
Fresh out of high school and into a mechanical engineering degree, I bought my own 3D printer and immediately ran into the same wall everyone does: filament is expensive. Large parts were off the table. The printer sat full of potential while the economics worked against using it.
That gap bothered me enough to start asking why.
The answer was obvious once I looked: industrial manufacturing had never used filament. It used raw polymer - pellets, bought in bulk, processed efficiently. Filament wasn't the material. It was the bottleneck.
Pellet extrusion already existed at industrial scale. What didn't exist was an accessible, high-performance system that brought those economics to a wider market. That's the gap Extrudinaire was built to close.
What We Build
Extrudinaire designs and manufactures pellet extrusion heads - the core technology that makes large-format pellet printing possible. Our MX CORE platform is engineered for real throughput with real materials: engineering polymers, filled composites, and recycled feedstocks that filament-based systems can't handle at scale.
We also take on custom extrusion projects for manufacturers and integrators who need something built to spec.
Why It Matters
If material cost stops a student from experimenting, it stops a manufacturer from scaling. I hit that barrier myself - Extrudinaire exists to remove it.
